Push the customer home. Don't let go. If you let go, it was their fault.
The job
Cheap movers, heavy customers
You and up to three friends are the crew of a cheap moving company. The customers are giant boulder heads: big, dramatic characters who need to get home. Home is always at the top of a mountain.
So you push. Together, uphill, with too little stamina and not enough footing, while the customer talks the whole way up. Somebody lets go, the boulder gets away, and it rolls back down, sometimes a very long way. The Blame Cam replays the moment and names the culprit. Then everyone walks down after it.
Get the customer to the summit and they roll into their spot next to the family. Then come the customer's review and everyone's payslip. Playing alone? The boulder gets lighter. A bit.
No checkpoints on the slopes
Let go and the boulder rolls back down, maybe all the way. The only safe spots are the camps.
The Blame Cam
Every runaway gets an instant replay that names the culprit. Their mistakes come out of the crew's money, so nobody forgets.
Customers with opinions
Every boulder head is a character who talks the whole way up, tells stories, and screams when you drop them.
Push, brace, rest
Stamina and footing decide everything. Bracing holds the boulder still, but it drains you fast.
The cheapest wedges
Wedge the boulder to catch your breath. The company bought the cheapest ones, so don't trust them for long.
Crew money, your money
The crew's earnings buy items and perks. Your own pay buys clothes, mostly questionable ones.
Boulder Heads! is in development. Everything on this page can still change, except the part where it's your fault.
How a job goes
A day on the job
Take a job
The crew hangs out in the company warehouse. The host picks a job from the job board, and the van drives you to the customer.
Push
Up the mountain, zone by zone. The camps on the way are company break huts, where the crew clocks in and the run is saved.
Lose it
Someone lets go. The customer rolls away, the Blame Cam names the culprit, and the long walk down begins.
Get paid
At the summit the customer rolls home. Everyone gets a payslip, and every incident blamed on you came out of the crew's money.
